Vietnam veterans honored at Savannah’s pre-Memorial Day ceremony

During a pre-Memorial Day Service on Sunday, Savannahians turned out to pay their respects to the 106 Chatham County servicemen killed during the Vietnam War.Held in front of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Emmet Park, the ceremony is organized by the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 671 and is the organization’s largest event of the year, according to president Joel Mitchler.“It’s a great honor to be at this site where American heroes' names are etched in marble for their
